My Story ♡
Get to know the Artist
Growing up in South London, aswell as being from a Pakistani-Mauritian-British household I was surrounded by a community bursting with creativity, culture, and raw artistic talent. The streets, conversations, music, fashion, and personalities all carried their own colour and rhythm, and being part of such a diverse environment inspired me to see art everywhere. It was impossible not to be influenced by the energy around , not to mention being completely obsessed with Art classes in my childhood. It all encouraged me to blossom alongside it and believe that becoming an artist was genuinely possible.
Much of that inspiration began at home with my beautiful mother, whose lifelong dream was to become a cartoon animation designer long before computer-generated animation changed the industry forever. She taught me how to draw with freedom and imagination, showing me that even the simplest squiggly lines could become something meaningful. Those early lessons stayed with me, and today those same playful marks and spontaneous sketches have evolved into the original paintings I create now — works rooted in memory, movement, and the joy of creating without limits.
From a young age, drawing became my quiet companion, a way to make sense of the world through playful lines, quirky characters and endless doodles scattered across notebooks scraps of paper and school margins. What started as simple childlike sketches gradually evolved into a lifelong language of creativity and comfort.
Rather than discarding those early drawings, I’ve kept them, cherishing the same innocence and curiosity that first ignited my love for art. There’s always been something honest about imperfect lines spontaneous marks and the freedom of creating without rules. That sense of wonder remains at the heart of every world I create today.
Over time, sketching transcended mere hobby; it became a source of happiness reflection and escape. These drawings hold memories of growing up – imagination humour awkwardness childhood tales family and friends stories and the beauty found in everyday moments. It’s almost as if I can freeze that fleeting moment and relive it. Even into my older age, the process remains the same: picking up a pen or pencil and letting instinct guide me.
My work celebrates the idea that creativity doesn’t have to be polished or serious to be meaningful. There’s sincere beauty in remaining playful, holding onto our childlike selves and finding joy in simple marks on paper.
Each piece is an extension of this lifelong journey – a collection of thoughts emotions and fleeting ideas transformed into sketches where I invite others to pause, smile and reconnect with their own imagination.
Now I hope to keep that spark within me alive and hopefully pass it along to my family one day the way my mother did with me.
